Cant get door to close....grrrrr
I am going crazy trying to get my door to close. I have new rubber on and I've had the striker and door mechanism powdercoated. I can get the door to strike the thing once but not the second time to fully close the door. I've put the striker all the way in, out, and inbetween with no luck. Anyone solve this?

Sometimes this can be solved by adjusting the hinges out. you may have to adjust the fender slightly. it depends on where it is hitting. You may have to readjust the striker if you move the hinges out. Just loosen bolts on door, not cab, and keep working it out and trying. Remember to tighten bolts before trying each time. Hope that works.

I've put the door hinges and the striker plate all the way out and no luck yet.

You might have to adjust the striker plate up or down as well, cause it might be binding abit, I know it's a pain in the a$$ I played with mine for a long time

First thing to do is to remove the striker plate completely and see how the door feels pushed shut. It should have no binding and not be hard to fully close. If it does have trouble, you need to re-adjust your hinges to let the door sit away from the rubber a bit.
If it seems good, then the problem is in the striker adjustment itself. One thing I learned, a little goes a long way! Move slightly, test, move slightly re-test, keep going until it works good. One other thing, the striker also has shims so not only can you adjust it in, out, up and down but also closer or further away from the cab jam. Lots of possibilities and that's why it's good to rule out the hinges by doing the above.

I experienced that problem about 10 years ago, and it was because I used an aftermarket door seal from JC Whitney. It was cheap and I was on a tight budget. The door fit like crap for about a year until the door seal took a set. Putting Armor-all on the seal helped by giving it a little lubrication. Hope this helps....
