Re: Fm / am
88,
Sure it wasn't 78. I thought it would have been sooner.

Re: Fm / am
I used to drive a '93 W/T 1500, and it had just a AM radio.

Re: Fm / am
I think what special-K was saying is that there was no "standard" radio on these trucks until much later. And I'm not sure that a radio was standard equipment even in '88.
My dad had a late 70's or early truck with no radio in it. Car dealers were pretty good about ordering plain vanilla trucks and adding their own equipment to them. In those days farmers or people that used these trucks were mainly interested in them as work or farm vehicles. A radio or a/c was extra cost. |

Re: Fm / am
When I was in 11 grade (1977) I drove my dad's trucks (company GM) to school, to help put the required 3000 miles on them so he could order another one. I never had one that didn't have a FM/AM radio in it. Now I'm not saying it was standard but I would have thought at least a AM would have been at the time.

Re: Fm / am
Not saying there were no AM/FM radios, just not sure when and if they were "standard" equipment in these trucks. I suspect it was in the 80's sometime.
