Re: Vin# location
Some GMCs did not have a frame vin... if it does have one it will be on the top of the left frame rail near the steering box.. also half way between the cab mounts.. also on the top of the left frame rail..

Re: Vin# location
Like mark said, some trucks (chevy too) didn't have the frame stamped... but this is where it is supposed to be.

Re: Vin# location
where can i find it on the actual cab? my PO repainted the whole interior, including the glove box door, and was stupid enough to remove the VIN tag from the door jamb when painting, and it got lost somewhere between then and my buying the project. i have all paperwork, and it matches the stamping on the framerail by the steering box. any help would be appreciated.

Re: Vin# location
if the SPID was painted over, and the VIN plate was removed and lost... then all you have is the stamping on the frame.
I'd be looking into the legality of going with no VIN plate. I'd hate to see you get your truck impounded for that. |
