WTB - TH400 Dust Shield / Cover

Looking for a good condition metal dust cover for a TH400 with starter cut out. It's OK if it has some surface rust or grime, but I need it to be dent free. Let me know if you have one and what it will take to get it to 72714.

Thanks!

Re: WTB - TH400 Dust Shield / Cover

from what I've seen, they may be interchangeable. If anyone knows for sure, please chime in. For the ones you have, do you have any pictures? And how much?

Re: WTB - TH400 Dust Shield / Cover

TH350 is probably not interchangeable. I had to test fit several at a swap meet to get one to fit. Finally found a good one after trying several "TH400 covers". If I find another I am going to bolt it to my garage wall where I won't lose it...LOL! My tranny is a '68 TH400.

I have another TH400 and can post a pic of the cover...if I can find it...I don't know where they run off to!

I would appreciate it. Do you know what makes them different?

Re: WTB - TH400 Dust Shield / Cover

The TH 400 cover is different from the TH 350 in the way in mounts to the transmission. I have never tried to adapt a TH 350 cover to a 400 transmission so I don't know if ot can be made to work or not.

Anyway here is a pic of the two covers so that you can see the difference. The bottom picture is of the TH 400 cover. If you don't find one let me know as I should have an extra.

Thanks Jim. Would be interested in the extra TH400 cover you have. Based on the difference I see, I better get a cover meant for a th400.

Re: WTB - TH400 Dust Shield / Cover

I do have one that is dent free. It has some surface rust and is in good condition. I tried to snap a picture but it did not turn out. I will retry tomorrow and post a picture. $10 for the cover and I will get shipping costs.

Re: WTB - TH400 Dust Shield / Cover

Here is a picture of the cover. It needs to be cleaned and painted as can be seen but it is solid.

UPS ground shipping is $11.
