Front axle swap

I am looking at getting a 79 Blazer front axle for the disk brakes(Drum on the 70 Burb) and was wondering if the axles are the same? Reason being is the axle from the Blazer is a different ratio, so the thought would be to swap the knuckles out if possible, keeping the ratio the same as the rear with the 70 front axle gears and tube. I thought I had heard that 78 is the cut off for the Dana 44 which may make this impossible.

I believe the 73-79 are a bit wider
