What color to paint engine accessories?

So I have the engine out of the truck right now and as such, it would be a good time to clean it up and put a better color on it. The block and water pump are going be painted red to match the red in the valve covers. But, I struggling with what color to paint the accessories without going overboard. No powdercoating here, we're talking rattlecan.

Do I paint it all red? (brackets, alternator, power steering pump, and pulleys)...this may be too much red

Do I do everything in red except for the pulleys?

Do I paint the brackets red since they could be considered an extension of the block and paint everything else black?

Do I paint it all black? (brackets, alternator, power steering pump, and pulleys)

Here's a pic of the engine before I set it on fire:

Re: What color to paint engine accessories?

An old hot rod friend used to say, all blocks 'should' be black and meant it!

I personally like chevy blocks to be chevy orange like the factory did em, brackets & pulleys would be black, accessories would be as they are stock but that's just me, I don't do bling so good.

Glad to see the purple go away...

Re: What color to paint engine accessories?

I'm like VT, that and my dad always painted his engines orange.
I used orange & black

The black is engine enamel also, makes a great engine bay paint too

Good luck and keep us posted

Re: What color to paint engine accessories?

Gotta agree with both of those young guys...block s/b orange or black, but better orange. Brackets black, alt. alum. finish as well as the PS Pump. I'm just ol' school, but glad to see the purple go. Black tends to hide oil leaks, orange shows them up

You've got good taste and I'm sure it will turn out nice whichever way you go. Truck looks great, how soon till it gets out of Body Shop Prison?

None of the options in the poll...LOL

You guys and your BBs, I am envious

Re: What color to paint engine accessories?

Thanks for the input guys. I'll put up pics on how it turns out. Not gonna spill the beans yet...but the only bling on the engine will be the fuel injection.

Gonna make the drive out to the body shop on Friday to check out the progress. I'll snap some pics then too.
