Re: Portland Swap Meet
Is that this weekend? I haven't been to that meet in years! Drove a '54 Eldo up I-5 in the rain with no top and makeshift wipers to try and sell it. It didn't and I ended up driving back down on Sunday! Had a great time though!!!

Re: Portland Swap Meet
Cool! Might have to try and go. Guy I used to work for owned the Caddy. I drove it up for him and he drove his motor home. Bunch of us used to spend the entire weekend up there. You almost need the entire weekend to really take the time to check everything out, but I'd settle for one day now.

Re: Portland Swap Meet
i planned on going on thursday. are there usually any good parts for our trucks? i have been told that some people practically give old muscle cars away down there.... is that true? because where im from people want an arm and a leg for one, if they do want to get rid of one.

Only vendors can get in on Thursday it's open to the public Fri-Sun I would say most people ask high at the swap for full cars but there are always deals too. If you see something you like and the price is high get there number and call them on Sunday to see if price went down most people don't want to take stuff home. There is usually alot of parts for our years trucks.

Re: Portland Swap Meet
The swap meet is only open to the public Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thursday is just the day for set-up. At least that was the way it was for years. Besides the swap meet at the expo center, there is also one at Portland International Raceway. The buses will pick you up and drop you off at both. If you've never been before I'd recommend just paying to park over at Portland Meadows, it costs a few bucks, but the buses pick you up and drop you off. The best way if you're familiar with the area is to ride MAX, the light rail to the swap meet. That drops you right off at one of the gates,

I have found lots of great deals on parts, cars not as much but like I said there are always deals. Also being the economy is in the tank people might be a little more willing to sell for better prices. Also a 69 BB Chevelle for $2K was probably in pretty bad shape but who knows the deals are there I hear stories all the time. I bought a perfect set of chrome wing windows 3 years ago for $20 and a complete uncut wiring harness for $10
