You will have to get 5 bolt wheels also, and if you want to match the rear will need to be changed you can not just throw (71-72) 5 lug axles in your rear end, they are a different length....I Bought everything off of 71 from a board member to change mine over to Disc 5 lugs on my 69 Suburban

Re: Front disc brake conversion for chevy c10 69
Welcome, yes it will work, there are a few minor differences...The lower ball joint can be changed to 73+ and then swap the disc spindle/rotor/caliper over, or you could change the whole front crossmember (13 bolts I think) .
Remember to swap to a disc proportioning valve and Mastercylinder ( you can search to find more info on that. And also you will need two spares unless you swap out the rear or have the axles changed to 5 lug.

Re: Front disc brake conversion for chevy c10 69
I changed upper control arms,at old lower control arms I set 73-87 new ball joints, spindles, dust shield, rotors calipers,73-87 new outer tie rods
the problem I found was adjusting sleeves 69 inner tie rod is 5/8 and 73-87 is 3/4 but you can find Custom sleeves in classic perpormance parts also brake hoses are another history. unless someone in the forum can tell me an easiest way to do it. |
