New Wheels And Tires This Weekend

Let's see....Over the last couple of weeks, I had to replace the coated (ceramic) headers that I got from a friend before they were coated. Seems they were roached down by the collectors. So I ordered another set from Jeggs and, with the main work done by another friend (son of the Header friend), put 'em on. Unfortunately, black this time. Didn't have the second $250....I'm a dumb ass....

Net result is that the exhaust is now sent through a set of Hooker 2452's, then sent thru 40 series Flowmasters all the way out the rear.

The brother of the header friend said, "Hey, Bill, why not run those wide wheels that were on your '72 before you changed them out...They're up in my field."

I needed tires, anyway, and wanted to run the 31 x 10.50's until I do the whole deal on the stance. It'll be mild...'cause I am. I like 'em low. But not for me. I usually like cops, but don't like to talk to them on a professional basis.

A red truck + loud pipes + 5 over the speed limit + radical stance = tickets.

I cleaned up the old wheels and used the centers that were on the Rallys. I think it looks pretty good. What do you think? Sounds very good. But I'm not gonna post the sound on YouTube this time around. If anybody wants the big file to hear the pipes from in the truck, door open and closed, and outside, I'll send it privately....oops! Nope. It's 100 Mb...Sorry. Maybe I'll take another one that's smaller.

Sorry about the crap pics.

Nice truck. They wheels look pretty cool like that. I did that on my old 88 with chrome mods and rally centers.

Re: New Wheels And Tires This Weekend

Thanks, Guys. I realized I didn't give a very good flick of the Rally centers with those big-'ol steel wheels. The wheels were mine and "free", and money is...well, you know...So I used them.

I'm happy with how they look.

I've got to give some attention to the '63 for a while.,,,so the Coys will have to wait....
