Re: wtf oil
Most oil leaks come from either the valve covers, intake manifold end seals, rear main seal, or the front seal behind the balancer.....there are others, but these are the most common.
1) find/fix the leak 2) change the nasty old stuff.

Re: wtf oil
if there water in it it would turn milky.... look pretty much like chocolate milk.
never drive a motor with water in the oil.. but do the 20 buck oil change... add some oil, find the leak and fix it.. most of the ones are pretty easy to fix

Re: oil
A clean motor makes it easy to find a leak if there is one. Oil leaks go down and back. In other words, oil won't leak upward or forward, it follows gravity. Any part not wet with oil is above your leak. Clean your motor when cold with a friend's pressure washer, then look for leaks. Add oil for now until you find the leak. Wal-Mart sells bulk store brand oil cheaper than major brands and it will do until you find your leak. You need your truck to go to school. Todays internet has promoted very creative spelling which will not serve you well in the business world. If you don't have a leak, then you are in a different situation.

Re: oil
alot of the older trucks have alot of crud in the motors.. you can get a motor flush type of thing but that may jam the oil pump... from all youve posted about your truck it sounds like it was and is kinda time for a rebuild from the tires tot he cab lights....

Re: oil
sounds like the filter was put on to tight before, use channel locks or jab a screw driver through the filter to take it off

Re: oil
An oil change is something you need to do. Putting it off will cost a lot more money.
I've had to get some oil filters off with a pipe wrench. Let the jaws get a bite right near the base of the filter (close to the engine) if you've you've got enough room. Good luck. |

Re: oil
Any time you're low on oil or it has anything other than oil in it, stop right then, your bearings will thank you. I've had a truck towed home before just so I could get the water out without cranking it up.
Yeah don't worry about messing the old filter up if you have to squach it a bit or jab a hole in it, you're going to throw it away anyway. When you put a new filter on, put oil on the filter gasket, make sure the engine is clean where the filter seats, and put the filter on hand tight only, don't use the filter wrench. |

Re: oil
You need to slow down when you are typing and read what you are typing so we can understand what you are asking!
From what I understand from your first post, you have a bad oil leak and you have dirty white thick oily stuff on your dip stick? The first step is to change your oil and filter. Then check your radiator to make sure you are not loosing coolant. Now run the engine and check the oil to see if the milky color comes back. If so, you have to change a head gasket or worse your engine. Do not drive the truck with water or coolant in your oil! If your engine is leaking oil, clean the engine and look for the leak. It is most likely your valve cover gaskets. If it is burning oil, check it and add at regular intervals. You might want to start saving for a different engine.

Poke, this is none of my biz but, don't you have an uncle or neighbor or someone who will show you how to do some of this stuff?
It just seems like you need someone to adopt you, or take you under their wing so to speak. I take it it's just you and your mom living there? |
