chassis build
Anybody here build their own frame? I'm tempted to build my own. I want to use 2x3 tubing. I just don't know what thickness? Any tips or advice please..thanks in advance....

Re: chassis build
With a fullsize truck I would probably run 2x4. You can get away with a .120 wall frame. 2x3 is just too small, and you don't need that kind of room under a fullsize cab.

Re: chassis build
I race my truck, so do I have to worry about flexing? I want to build my own frame to take weight off, that's the whole reason..

Re: chassis build
I wouldn't think you would save any weight by building a new frame. By the time i finish one with all the crossmembers, etc its about the same or a little more than a stock frame.

You likely will not save any weight. You will probably add some if the frame is built right.
