Seat Covers

I have a 1972 K5. Any thoughts on a company that makes seat covers such as Realtree Camo that would fit the front buckets and back bench seat? I need to have them recovered but wanted something a little different for a while. Bass Pro shops sells them but I am hesitant thinking they would not fit good enough on the older (no head rests) style seats.

Any ideas are welcomed! Thanks

Re: Seat Covers

First, welcome to the board from Seattle. Post some pics of your truck when you get a chance.

Most of the modern seat covers don't really fit that great. As for the headrest, many of the modern covers require you to put the holes in them for the head rests (if they aren't a style that covers the head rests), so you could always just not put holes in them.

You might check with Beard Seats or Wet Okole to see if any of theirs will fit, but they are almost as expensive as just getting a reupholstery kit from one of the vendors.

Re: Seat Covers

Will do, I will try to get some pics up, but "she is rough". And I have a couple of other projects in the works so this one will move slowly.

Thanks for the board welcome!

Re: Seat Covers

You are probably correct in that I should just go ahead and get a stock color. Do you have a preferred dealer where prices and quality seem to be the best?

Re: Seat Covers

Here's a vendor list (not all are subscribed board members) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/links/browselinks.php?c=2

I've bought parts from Classic Heartbeat, GMC Paul's, Brothers & Mother Truckers. I've heard good things about Christians Classics too.
