axle identification

Well I just bought my first classic. I will post pictures when I can figure that out. 1968 cst c10 327.

I am trying to find out where the code on the rear axle is and where the code on the transmission is. I want to know what all is in the truck. I found the engine cast code. I am sorry if this is an easy answer but I am new to all of this. Thanks in advance.

Re: axle identification

Most likely a T-400 transmission. The rear end code is on top of the L/H axle tube near the pumpkin. WES

Re: axle identification

The code is located here: (see pics)
All you need is the first letters, some have two, some have three.
