rear bag differences - RE7's or RE6's??

First off, this site is great! i've learned a ton just searching and reading.
I'm new to the "truck world". I recently pick up a 1960 Chevy Apache Longbed. My focus right now is suspension (air) and steering/handling.
i'm not planning on laying it on ground,....but i want to be a close as i can when aired out. Mainly i don't want to HIT the ground if i have bag,line, or tire failure. but anyways,...
this will be my first bag set-up on a vehicle so i'm trying to soak up all the info i can. so, on to the question...

(i'm planning on running Slams)
i know some of this may be personal preference, but what are the pro/cons of either RE7's to RE6'S in the back?
i've read alot of people on here running RE7's on all 4 courners, and some running 7's up front and 6's out back...

I believe the number on slam bags refers to the diameter; the bags are similar in other respects unless you change series of slam bags. I ran re7's all around.

yes, you are right about the diameter, but i figured a different diameter bag would fill differently, different psi @ "x" ride height, and i could see the ride being different between the two.

the larger 7 inch bag will require less psi for lift then the 6 inch. this will result in the same ride height with a lower psi and softer ride. Since there isnt tomuch space constraints for the rear id go with a 7. I have them on the front of my s10 and love them

I had RE-7s on the back of my 67 & I think that they are TOO soft & bottomed out a lot, so next time Im going with RE-6s

BTW I was running the rear axle about 3-4 inches from the frame (no notch) & I was at like 10 psi IIRC

You can remedy this situation by running a 2" drop block. That will allow more air pressure at the same given drop. I run about 35psi at ride height on the rear of my '70 with the axle 1/2" from the frame(or where it used to be- it's c-notched). I pondered running the sixes on my truck, but my frame and notches were already drilled for sevens...

i was told by the tech at slam specialties to run re-8's on a fullsize if you have the room fro them, because they take the weight better and should give you a better ride. id call them up, the tech was very informative and didnt try to sell me the most expensive kit they offer. suicidedoors has the best deal on slams bags that i found.
