Sway bar question

Did 67-72 come with sway bars ? The reason i ask is i have 3 trucks and only 1 has a sway bar but it doesn't look factory installed.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Sway bar question

I'm not sure on the 67-72's, but 73-87's it was optional.

Re: Sway bar question

I just pulled a whole set up from a 72 C20. The brakets for the frame had rivets, the arms had bolts. Im pretty sure its factory. It looks to be 1.25" in diameter.

Re: Sway bar question

I know that 69-72 had swaybar option on 2wd trucks. Not sure about before that.

Re: Sway bar question

it was an option on the 63-72's and became much more prevalant on the 73+. If I rmember right, it was pretty much standard equioment from about 75 or 78 and up. The problem with the factory sway bar on these trucks, despite the ingenious suspension design itself.... the sway bars flat out sucked if you were running the truck at anything other than stock height. If you are lowering the truck, just plan on replacing the sway bar.
