GM CB on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-CB...Q5fAccessories

Item number: 130301177766

This above CB would be correct for our trucks. I have three already and don't need a fourth one.

Item number: 120410859525

I am not familiar with this unit.

A 23 channel...the first one is correct. The second one being a 40 channel...wouldnt be correct. I dont think 40 channel radios were made until the mid to late 70's. I have always liked having a CB...and I always liked having upper and lower channels too.

Re: GM CB on ebay

The top CB came in two styles...the one as shown and the other has woodgrain trim. Both 23 channels.

I never gave this much thought till now, but a vintage CB in my 68 burb would be cool! What would be a good one? Not really concerned with it being a GM brand, but that would be a bonus I guess. What kinds were made in 1968? I know nothin about CB radio's...

Re: GM CB on ebay

Damn it. That first one (23 channel) is an old Johnson Messenger. I just threw one away last year. Worked great too, just didn't need it anymore. Had I known, I might have tried to rebadge it as a GM unit, and put it in my 68.

The two top CB's back in the mid 60's to mid 70's and again this is just an pinion was #1) Browning, #2) Tram D42 , #3) Johnson. It is important that you get the models with RF Gain. That is the one thing that I do not like about the factory GM CB's is they do not have RF Gain, I have the Browning USB/LSB 23 channel and their upper level 23 Channel CB. I also have the Tram D42. The next model above the D42 would be the Tram D60 (I think). The you have a ton of others to chhose from: SBE, Royce, Midland, Craig, and Cobra. There are a bunch of others but this will give you an idea. Ebay and Craigslist has these up for sell all the time. Flea Markets are a great place to find vintage CB's.

I remember the ones from the era they were Pearce Simpson (? sp) they were 23 channel and actually had a GM 23 logo on them.
