1972 p/u motor numbers
I purchased a 1972 Chevy pick up at Carlise last week. The number on the front pad of the motor (350) is MB12800. I can not find this number in any reference and I would like to know if this is the original motor (as the seller stated). It is an A/C truck with power brakes and steering and tilt wheel. The truck is a Cheyenne 10. Can anyone help please. Thanks

Re: 1972 p/u motor numbers
It should be a partial vin that will match the vin on your truck. Only you can see if it is.

Call your local GM dealer. They can tell you.

Re: 1972 p/u motor numbers
Thanks for the help. I have done some research and found that the "2800" stands for a over the counter GM block so I guess this is a replacement engine. Thanks again
