Factory Trim For Cheyenne Super ???
I have a Cheyenne Super shortbox 4x4 My question is I only have the woodgrain bottom molding and tail gate molding. On my SPID it only states the truck as being one color. I have looked behind the fenders doors and cab for evidence of a previous top molding and I cant find a thing. Has anyone out there heard of Cheyenne Super like mine.

I have never heard of a true cheyenne super without upper trim. Even a solid paint super should have the upper trim.

that truck has me scratching my head all over.
It says Z84, cheyenne super, which, we already discussed in another thread. Wrong option code, but it's been seen before. You say it has no upper trim, nor did it ever. A super should have that. The SPID lists optional guages... that's part of the Super package. I wonder if your truck is just a cheyenne, and someone just typed super in there. Does it have the correct badging? |

My truck has wood grain bazil and glove box and cheyenne super embems on the front fenders and glove box. you metioned that the guages are listed in the SPID list. The picture chipflyer sentof his SPID also had the guages listed as well as Z84 Cheyenne Super Equipm

good point.
Chip is very good on option codes and the odd ball way they listed some of them. Your truck will always seem weird. (I mean that in a non 'dissing' way) |

I have a 72 Cheyenne C-20. (non-super) On the spid it has listed Z84 Cheyenne Equipment
Exactly like that. B85 Belt Molding . I had upper and lower moldings on mine. Not sure which one is belt molding ? upper ? Maybe because I had two tone white/light yellow ? I will try to get clearer pics in the morning, the ones I have are fuzzy

If you get a vehical history check does it list the previous owners. If it does maybe I can track down the original owner and put an end to my "Quest"

my 72 C-20 Cheyenne (non-super) has the same codes but slightly differently typed
LS9 350 CID ENGINE N40 POWER STEERING U63 AM-P/BUTTON RADIO Z53 AMP-OIL-TEMP-GAUGE A11 TINTED GLASS B85 BELT MOLDING P03 CHROME HUB CAPS Z84 CHEYENNE EQUIPMENT 603 BLACK VINYL CUST TRM 464 WHITE & LIGHT YELLOW It could just mean that the Canadians and Fremont Ca folks typed it different.. Wasn't the other recently posted Z84 Cheyenne Super SPID also Canadian? ALso notice the wheel-base measurement is not filled in but the model number shows it is a SWB.
Possible Conclusion::::: Canadian Truck details and SPID info. may vary! |

That truck has been on the board for years. I considered buying it a few years ago but wanted A/C. Definitely not a "New" SPID.

On the paint, my Cheyenne is factory "Tuxedo Black", one color. No cab moulding around back of cab, but has top and lower (W/G)moulding with tailgate band.

my 72 cheyenne has upper and lower,with woodgrain, and is solid white. i know it's factory since my uncle bought the truck brand new off the showroom floor.

Something else I noticed, it lists black interior, as far as I know a Cheyenne Super was not offered with black interior with a bench seat. I have seen a SPID that listed a Cheyenne Super WITH buckets and black interior, it was Canadian also. They would have been just vinyl, there were never any factory houndstooth buckets. (not that I have ever seen or heard of)

Nice looking truck!! Another odd thing about your SPID, It does not list the lower trim either. I looked at a few Cheyenne Super SPID's I have here and they all list "lower" and "belt" moulding. They all list the gauges too. I thought maybe your truck was a step side originally (step sides did not get side mouldings), but youe model number says its a fleetside. Very interesting!! Any one else have a truck built in Canada???

Both of my Supers do not have the upper/lower trim listed in the SPID....but they are both listed on the build sheet.
Maybe the guy on the assmebly line that was supposed to install the upper trim had too many Mooseheads the night before and it slipped through...who knows?

I guess I have an oddball Canadian Super or not complete super clone. It is weird who ever restored this truck way back when would either take off the mouldings. Or if it wasn't a super he wouldn't have finished the cloning. the rest of the truch has been kept fairly original and I was told it only has had one repaint. I wish I could talk with the original owner!!!
