flipped stock spindles???

Ok newbie dumb question??/

I was pulling my front end apart to bag it and was looking at the stock spindles.....Ummm it looks like you could flip them around to get about a 2-3" drop anybody ever try ???

I think if you put the left on the right and vise vera and flipped the steering arms around it may work.....yea I know it would be to easy........and cheap.......

Re: flipped stock spindles???

The upper and lower ball joint tappers are different sizes. Not going to work.

Re: flipped stock spindles???

I was thinking you could flip them over and it would make them level

Re: flipped stock spindles???

If I'm not mistaken you can flip the spindles on a 57 chevy car and get some sort of lift or drop. I like your line of thought there though.

Re: flipped stock spindles???

If you notice, the ball-joints do not form a vertical line between them, the upper is angled back at the top. Since the spindle is made to compensate for this.....even if it would fit on the tapers, the shaft would not be parallel to the ground anymore. It would tilt upward quite a bit.

Don't try it....

Re: flipped stock spindles???

sorry I had my ass hat on instead of my thinking cap??

but I did get my bags in with less than impressive results...I guess I'll cut the lower a arm and put a slice in the upper to compinsate for the angle and see if that works....I wWANT MORE DROP and until I find some cheap drop spindles this will have to do...........
