Short trip in my 69 c10.

My cousin is moving back home with her parents. It was a while since I had my truck on the freeway. I stoped using freeway because I need to redo a front end. Front suspension has a lot of play. So this morning I drove to South Pasadena and load the truck. I am running a 4 row radiator with a late model firebird dual fan set up. Around town it runs at 170 degrees. It was overheating a little at 200 degrees due to 3500 cruising rpm. Truck actually handled and stop better when it was loaded. I need to do some sound insulation inside the cab. Anything from 3500-4000 rpm and it's hard to keep a conversation going. Nothing broke during the trip but th400 sprayed oil all over the place. I will need to see why. I already got a biggest summit alum radiator and trans cooler on oder.

200 degrees isn't hot really. The stock thermostat doesn't even open until 195 and those gauges aren't always perfectly accurate.

3500-4000 cruise RPM is way too high if you're going to do a lot of cruising. How far away does your cuz live?

Rents up there are pretty crazy,bet she saves a bundle living at home.

If you use distilled water instead of regular water it will lower the temp 10 to 15 degrees

Have any picture of the fan setup? Might be blocking airflow through the radiator at speed. My cruise rpm is high as well, 3100-3300 rpm. Runs 190 degrees with a nylon flex fan and 3 row radiator on my 350.
