Ya this is a lot better then sanding. Kinda stinks though, and the marshmellows are even fit for a dog.

Need to know if your useing a factory style bushing or a neoprene. If you use factory the outer shell has to come out too. I read somewhere if you use a neoprene you leave the outer shell in. Maybe someone can confirm this. I use a torch to heat mine up to remove. Maybe a propane or mapp gas might get it hot enough. Then you might be able to use a big c clamp to put some pressure on it. When I put my factory ones in I used this setup. It's a pain, but you adapt and overcome when you don't have the right tools..

Don't worry I still have a lot of body work to do yet. Still working on my doors. Haven't recieved my other bottom yet. Looks like your doing good on your window conversion. You'll get to the body work soon enough, then you'll be wishing it was done already.

Parts fairy brought my other door bottom got it welded on. Mounted my steering wheel on my new column no problems there. I've been working on getting my doors set right and getting the gaps good. What a pain. Now that I've got my door metal work done I can skim them and then sand some more

did you folks learn this stuff ( body work) some where or just trial and error. i guess some of it you just have to tear into it and learn as you go.

I've never done any welding or body work untill this winter. I found this site and started reading different threads. I read Allans Classic and really liked the dash idea. Work was reallly slow so I bought a rust bucket of a old truck and a welder. I really like working with my hands, never really liked the suit and tie stuff. I'm pretty sure I'm hooked on the old truck thing. My next house is going to have a four car garage so I can have more than one project going at a time. Now all I have to do is wait for work to slow down so I can get back to working on my truck. At least when I'm working I have monet to buy things. Why is it always no money and lots of time or no time and lots of money?

You could check into some DVD's on metal work and body work. Eastwood has some as well as Ron Covell. Someone here posted another place that has some but I don't remember who it was. I know for me it is easier to learn something by seeing it rather than reading it.

They are both really GOOD sources for learning to do it CORRECTLY.

I know it is easy to just throw bondo (mud ) on sheetmetal, but hey if your interested in doing correctly check these two sites out.

The allmetalshaping.com site looks fairly new......I'll have to check it out some more. I'm registered over on Metalmeet.com, but just don't seem to have enough time to get there very often. Definitely some very talented guys there, and a good resource for learning metal working.

Got my crank put in my engine. Everything went ok. Had one question. On the rear neo seal the directions on the package said to rotate it about 3/8 of an inch so it did'nt line up with the block/cap halfs. In the book I had it did'nt say to do this. They gave me a little shoe horn thing to use with the neo seal. I could'nt figure out what they wanted me to do with it. I just put the seal in the way the book said now I'm second guessing myself?

Don't line up the seal joint with the main cap joint. It needs to be offset like you said first. It makes it a little harder for the oil to get out.

My dash is rotated to high now I have a big gap between the steering column and the dash. Might just fill it in when I fill in the ash tray. The second pic is the way it should look, in a perfect world. I'm not sure how much it will raise up when I mount the column.

Finally got my roof done. Started working on my doors. Cabs about ready for some slicksand. Found a bed that better then mine. A guy is using it for a trailer told hime I'd give him 250 for it. I know it will save me 75 in mud.
