Seat recovering cost? 67 fold-up, Houndstooth
Wondering if anyone here has had a seat upholstered in houndstooth, similar to original, and done in an upholstery shop. I would like my 67 done in blue houndstooth like a 70 or later, but the available covers from Brothers (or similar), while they would physically fit the seat, I would lose the fold forward function of the seat. My gas tank is gone-gone so I am making use of that space behind the seat.
Anyone had this done that could share the outcome and how much you paid? Thanks! |

Anyone able to help with this? The local upholstery shop guy sez that the blue houndstooth material is unavailable. Huh? Maybe he just doesnt want to fool with it......

I can't help you with the cover because i have never bought one. I have had a few seats covered and all shops seem to have their own pricing structure. I would check with 2 or 3 shops before deciding. Good luck!

Re: Seat recovering cost? 67 fold-up, Houndstooth
I've found that checking various upholtery jobs in cars at the local rod trots an cruise nights and finding work that you like that is consistant between vehicles is usually a good way to find a shop that does work in the style and quality you want.
That may or may not get you the lowest price but you should know what to expect from the trimmer. As BigDaddyDave mentioned pricing is all over the place. |

I paid $250 to have my seat redone in vinyl with new foam just to give you an idea. I thought this was a very good deal.
