tranny swap driveshaft solutions?
I am considering swapping my old factory MS465 4-speed with a turbo 400 . I have the turbo 400 in a 69 3/4 ton right now and am wondering if the driveshaft from this truck will be of use if I change my 72 1/2 ton to the automatic. Will the driveshaft from the 69 be the right lenght? In other words can I just swap trannies and front driveshafts ?

Re: tranny swap driveshaft solutions?
You should be able to just swap the front half of the driveshaft providing that the trucks have the same wheelbase but with these trucks there always seems to be a lot of differences in driveshafts.

Re: tranny swap driveshaft solutions?
never swap half a driveshaft without having it reballanced as an assembly!
if it does work may as well get a new carrier bearing and some good u-joints while youre there.
