The Motorhome is on the move!!!!

Gave it a tuneup, changed and checked all fluids, and tomorrow it will be going on a 180 mile trek east to be stored at my mother in laws farm. This time I will be pulling a trailer with what is left of my 68, and my 67. I will post some pics, Im sure it will be an eyeful or at least a eyesore. Its going to be a blast, Im sure it will be as much fun as when I brought it back from Seattle compliment if Livrat AKA Mark. I bet he will be glad to see it moving again.

Funny part is, I have had it for sale on here and locally, and as I was working on it tonight, a couple walked by and asked if it was for sale. After looking at it and realizing the lenght, they figured it would not fit in there parking area. Im kind of glad that its still not sold. Crewcab/dually, here we come.

This thing still amazes me, doors shut perfect, just like a Cadillac. The bigblock just purrs like its been maintained and driven for years, unlike sitting and being started every couple of months.

I saw an older couple driving one today. They were heading to eastern Washington pulling their little aluminum boat. Can I take it for a road test to Bonneville in August? =)

Anyways, a total weight of 15400 LBS for the puller and pulling. DID NOT MISS A BEAT. I was totally impressed with how the big block perfomed, Livrat probably still thinks Im nuts taking it out of Seattle. Got a few strange looks, lot of heads turning in disbelief; "it really does 60 mph!"

Just for those who want to buy this, I will drive it anywhere to get it sold, Texas or Bellevue Washington. CG, I can bring the seats also!!!!!!!! Im not sure if Lazygaurd (darryl) ever come around anymore, but I brought it half way to his house, just 3 more hours!

Please, any more pictures? I'd love to see it--what does the inside look like these days? Solid/covered walls? Is the electric all good to go? Water? Holding tanks? I think it rocks. What's milage like? It does 60...how about 80 mph?

Someone was bored and did some reading waaaaaaaaaay back. I have pictures on the other computer, maybe I will post some later.

Did not get too much done on the inside. Electrical, water is almost done, but if I ever get back to this project, Im sure I will have more weird ideas.

In regard to t he MPG and MPH, when I came back from Seattle I did have it over 80 mph, and really the fuel economy was not too bad. I do have the BBC sold, and I probably will regret pulling it, but I will make that decision later.

No, I have found every possible photo on the site. I searched them about 20 different ways. I love it. I just found the photoshop proposals from folks on here and really like what people did with it and would like to see more.
I run a non-profit building homes in Mexico with high school kids (UthBuild.com) and am tired of tents. I'd love to roll in with this rig, trailer of tools in tow with luggage, food and clean stuff inside the camper. I'd put in the biggest propane fridge I could find for our stuff (we feed about 50 each week), maybe a small chest freezer to keep stuff cold (electric, but it's a bit spotty on the camp site we use), and a bed for me.
I'd love to put in a proper man-sized toilet and shower so I can have a little time away from the groups, and be happy in a clean camper, out of the sand that prevails in Rocky Point.
I couldn't lower it since we sometimes go down rough roads, but that would be super-cool if I could. Airbags would rock, but I can't afford it.
If I had money left over after the fridge and bathroom, I think I'd powdercoat the wheels, maybe the cliche bright red or whatever accent color we pick up on the truck. Rust? That looks cool on my neighbors rod. The slab sides would get our UthBuild logo and probably a distinct section where kids could sign their names and it could get repainted when I'm tired of their art. They do amazing stuff with sharpie markers out here.
What mirrors would I use if they got shaved? I don't think that would be an option for me, as I need to back it up with a trailer (a camera wouldn't work b/c the trailer and not as reliable and expensive). Rolling out with this and the vans would be killer.
Dreams are good. Want a big tax write-off? I could pick it up tonight!

To eagleuh1: Even though that is not the biggest of chassis mount camper units installed on C30s in those years, it most likely is too heavy to run correctly/safely on a normal C20. The C30 is quite a bit more vehicle underneath.

I like the look of that camper - seems like it may be fiberglass exterior, which is nice when you think about weathering issues - and it has a more sleek look than the usual metal skinned types. I doubt that a guy could go buy such a camper unit to fit on our trucks these days - probably need to be a custom or home-build project. One idea would be to find someone with such a mohome that is converting the truck to another type of use, and just grab the camper and move to your chassis. I have a decent camper unit (similar) that I would give away free if someone would remove it.
