How to mount voltage regulator
I know this might be a dumb question but.....How does the voltage regulator mount on our trucks? I took the old one off about a year ago (the rubber mounts disintegrated while removing the bolts) and set it aside while I did other things. I ordered a mounting kit which came with 3 screws and 3 t-shaped rubber grommets about 3/4 inches long. I seem to remember the factory grommets being H-shaped (sandwiching the core support). Any one know how the new kit mounts or did I get the wrong part - DOH

Re: How to mount voltage regulator
Old post but I am wondering about this myself. Can't seem to figure out how they mount. Thanks

Re: How to mount voltage regulator
Regulator came with instructions but doesn't show how to mount the rubber insulators.

Re: How to mount voltage regulator
What you have is correct. The T-shaped grommets are actually well nuts. Put them into the holes in the core support from the engine side. They should be barely snug. Insert the screws through the regulator base and screw them into the well nuts. As you tighten them the well nuts expand.
