Talking future EFI plans

I normally don't like EFI but this one I just fell in love with. Its in the plans for when I get the 350 hopefully. My parents said that they might buy me an engine as a graduation present instead of a car so if they do that I might be able to save up enough for this. Its a tunnel ram multi point injection manifold with an LT1 throttle body. Its really cool and beats the hell out of a carb. The only bad thing is its pretty costly. About $2300 ( i think thats for the polished one, I think the satin finish one is cheaper). but in the long run the increased mileage and power I get will really help since I'm gonna have to go about two thirds of the way to Yukon and back everyday to get to College everyday if I get the full ride, otherwise I'll only have to go to Midwest City. So what do you guys think of this thing?

I wish I could find a steel Ram Air hood but I think the only ones you can get are the fiberglass ones. I'm looking at the Ram Air 2 hood on this site. http://www.usbody.com/73-87%20Chevrolet%20truck.htm its about $650 though.

I didn't know Yukon had a college. What school are you talking about? I thought I went to them all.

I like the EFI set-up though!

Edelbrock makes a much cheaper EFI conversion kit. You could always get the PROM reprogrammed to get more HP too.

It comes with a computer with it. but initially you will need a laptop to program it. This is no problem. I can borrow one from the school or my Aunt has one I can use.

its two thirds of the way to Yukon from McLoud. Its the OKC Community College by the Airport. My councelor thinks she might be able to help get me a full ride there if I dont get it I'll just go to Rose State.

I thought about doing that but it would probably be easier to roll my truck up to the computer.

I went to both schools. The gas to get to OCCC was a killer for me just coming from Midwest City. I can imagine your dilema.

Now that is one sweet EFI unit. If you install electric fans you can use a Vette intake system by routing the air intake from the airdam or the extra light cutouts available on the 81-87 radiator supports.

Doing that would be alot cheaper than getting a ram air hood.

Ryan, I've been drooling over that Holley EFI setup as well. Hard to cough up $2300, but damn, that thing is sweet!

The picture is from an www.ebaymotors.com auction. No the one in the picture will not fit the LT1 throttle body. However you can get the hose of the LT1 throttle body to fit the air intake in the picture.
