GMC front end.

This isn't something I have really paid any attention to before but it popped into my head today for whatever reason. I know on the GMC's the fenders were basically the same from 67-72. I assume this means the slanted hood for the 67/68 trucks would fit on the 69-72 trucks just fine not? Would there be other parts needed? Or is there something I am missing in this equation?

Re: GMC front end.

you would need to get rid of the 'eyebrows' and top bar from the grill, and you'd need a 67/68 style hood latch assembly.
You'd need the 67/68 top bar, which is much smaller, and not reproduced... Then you can toss on the 67/68 hood.

Re: GMC front end.

Ah, the lack of a reproduction top bar likely explains why this is something I have never really come across before. I was thinking the fenders being the same throughout the years would allow GMC guys to go either way as far as hoods go. Not quite that simple......

Re: GMC front end.

probably... I was honestly rather amazed they started reproducing the 67 grill being it is a one year only item. On top of that, i am amazed every year that they continue to make them.
