Re: getting rally wheels that need painting..

I always find it a bit humorous all the debate over the "correct" color silver when these trucks didn't come with rally wheels anyway.

just paint them plain ol' bomb can silver from AutoZone / O'Reilly's / Advance Auto / Wal Mart ... no one but you will ever know the difference.

They came with the truck I thought L M C had them but I didn't see them in the catalog. Year one has them for camaros I think they will work for $220 a set. If lived by tx firefighter I would have mine powder coated.

Heres another color choice I used Rust-o-lem '' Hammered '' Silver. I like the effect.

The reason you didn't see them is that your rally's are car rally wheels, done by an aftermarket company. GM never made this style of rally for the trucks. Your center cap is the same they used on GM cars like Camaro's, Impala's, etc. They look great, especially on trucks but they are not truck rally's like the other ones being posted.

Re: getting rally wheels that need painting..

Hi guys,
Brand new member. I just got a 1969 4x4 long bed 5 days ago that i've been starting in on. Did some small things first like refinishing the grill, front bumper, and wheels. So mine had 15x8 rallies with stock argent silver but the color was fading and there was some scratches and surface rust and such. So I decided to do something different and paint the wheels black and buff up the finish on the trim rings and center caps. turned out real nice. I just used a red (coarse) scotch brite pad and feathered out all the chips and got everything scufffed nice and blew them clean with compressed air and bombed em. I used duplicolor's gloss black engine enamel cause it's a little heavier duty and withstands up to 500 degree temps. Not sure if it was necessary but figured that being next to the brakes..... anyhow. This is how it turned out. Now onto the body.....
