63 tear down with my son this weekend

took apart my 63 this weekend with my 6 year old son. gutted it, including the engine and trans. did some body work too. now the suspension is next.
i put a free ad in craigslist for everything i took out, besides the engine and trans. the only thing that went was the seat!!

Re: 63 tear down with my son this weekend

my plans for the truck:
four wheel disc brakes. i already have a complete front suspension with power steering off a 78 that has dropped splindles. i have new front lower springs 3" from summit. putting a narrow 9" ford with disc brakes. as for the engine i have just built a 413 big block mopar .060 over with 11-1 pistons, six pack rods, isky 292 mega cam, special build trans adaptor from wilcap to bolt the mopar to any auto trans from chevy. i have a built tubo400 to put in it.
i'm going to have the paint primer black with dark red on top. rims i have old chevy ralleys painted red 10" rims in rear painted red.

Wow a 413, thats different. I don't even bother popping my hood at shows since everyone else has a small block chevy.

Re: 63 tear down with my son this weekend

i got to be different. everybody has a small block or big block chevy. i love to open the hood and have something different in it. i have built a 60 chevy c10 with a 427 turbo 400 4 wheel disc, a 65 big window with a loaded 350 m21. a 65 small window loaded 327 /350, 66 c10 long bed 455 buick tubo400. and now my 63 project, i have build alot of cars too, i'm just listing 60-66 chevy trucks i have build. i love to have something other than chevy engine in cars or trucks. got to be different.
