4inch shocks on 2.5inch lift kit?

I bought Bilstein shocks planning on a 4inch lift kit. They are F4-BE5-6248-H5 and F4-BE5-6252-H5 would they work on a smaller lift kit? I am guessing I will need to get different shocks but I am afraid of the money I am going to lose on selling the new shocks for a 4ich lift. I was thinking either 2.5 skyjacker lift kit or Tuff country 2inch.

You should be fine. I was in the same position for years as I needed new shocks then but was planning on a taller lift later. I ran 6" lift shocks with a 4" lift for 3 or 4 years before actually installing the 6" lift. Never had a problem but never bottomed it out either.

When I lifted my blazer I wanted max suspension flex so I flexed my blazer by going through a deep ditch at an angle with NO shocks on it. I measured the distance between the shock mounting points at max stretch and compression. Then looked through the Skyjacker catolog at shocks. They list all of their shocks dimmensions. Find some that will work with your measurements and order. With my set up I needed what they listed for rears with my lift, on the front, and longer ones for the back. By doing it this way you will not have shocks that are too long or short.
