Is this another NOS gate
Found one with remnants of the box on it. Has a sticker with the GM part number...seller says it's NOS...is it?

Re: Is this another NOS gate
I'd say yes. I haven't seen a sticker like that, but I doubt that it's fake. Probably just old.

Re: Is this another NOS gate
That was my question as I've never seen the sticker and thought it might be fake. Plus, I looked up the part number and on google it came up on a site for repop parts so I was afraid it might just be a dirty repop?

Re: Is this another NOS gate
Anyone know what the O L 4 stamp means on the sticker?

I think the GM originals were in boxes and the label had the part number and a group # on it. LockDoc

Re: Is this another NOS gate
I believe that the "0 L 4" is the date code as to when the tailgate was made.
The 0 is for the last number of the year, 1970, the L is the letter for the month, December, and the 4 is the day of the month. So it was made on Dec 4, 1970.

Re: Is this another NOS gate
I'd say it was NOS in 1970. Real NOS. I have an NOS 67-68 core support with the same kind of sticker on it, it is also old.

Re: Is this another NOS gate
Yeah buddy!! That is NOS. Ain't no repop that sticker and making it look that old. I've spent alot of money on both, NOS left & right fenders and a NOS hood. All three have that same sticker on them. Look at the box and that old ass cord around the box. Besides, to validate the part number go to this link and download the catalogue and go to page 49. The have the old and the new part #'s. Hey, are you gonna buy this tailgate? If not, give me the sellers info so I can.

Re: Is this another NOS gate
It is for sale on here and my local craigslist. First dibs will go to a forum member. I would love to keep it but I am cutting my gate up for a reverse flip handle and some custom mods
