81-87 weatherstrip

My truck is finally getting out of the body shop before this month is over. My question is who sells a whole kit for all of the rubber weather stripping that i need for the truck? I want everything new, i can get it here locally for 450 but i think some online places like lmc might be cheaper what do you guys suggest and if you can give me a check list of what i need so if i have to go threw lmc i order everything, including the ones for the quarter windows too. Thanks alot!!

I am not sure that you can get a kit from anyone, but LMC or brothers can help you out with that. Call them and they have some tech people that can help you if you need it..

Re: 81-87 weatherstrip

I bought the whole Window Seal Kit from LMC #38-5651 for $99.95. I've not installed them yet because I also bought LMC's Vent Glass seal #386074 and #386075 for the vent windows and they were the wrong ones. I have a 84 GMC and LMC sent me the right part that I ordered, but after I removed the window vent from the frame I noticed it was a two peace seal and not one pieces. In the LMC catalog mine looks more like the pieces for 73-80. So I'm kinda pissed because it isn't fun not being able to drive with leaky windows. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it yet. I just found this out yesterday so I have not decided if I'll return them or not. The one piece looks like it might fit if I cut the straight side out and then glue the straight piece to the vent glass old metal/rubber piece. This is not a fun job I might add. I didn't think that this would be that hard but after waiting two weeks on LMC because the Window Seal Kit was on back order and then discovering that the window vent seal was wrong, I'm kinda bummed about it. This project all started because my driver side window decided one day not to roll up. Removing the door panel, window, and window regulator is not easy and I'd never done this before so it's been a little slow getting it back together. When i bought all these seals I had not removed the window yet so I just trusted LMC part numbers. And then after all that the stupid motor to the window worked once I tested it out side the door, so I'm not sure why my window would not roll up. Once I removed the window seal on the driver side they just fell apart and the rubber scraper were trashed too, so I figured I might as well do both side. I haven't even completed one side so be you've been warned LOL. I have to keep telling myself that if I didn't want to work on this thing, then I should have bought a new truck. LOL But I love my truck and this body style and when it is done I'll have learned something and did it all myself.
