O ring seal on TH350
I filled my new TH350 for a few quarts of Mobil 1 last night only to come home this evening and see that ½ quart had leaked out. It leaked from where the speedometer cable goes in. I used some sealer around the bullet when I put it in last week, but found an o ring that came with it today. Is this where the o ring goes? Are there any other seals I need to look at?

Had the same problem and there is an o ring the goes in between the cable and the trans. Mine leaked and went to orilys and got one for 60 cents after paying 600 to get it built.

Re: O ring seal on TH350
Yes you need the o-ring,also it is not reccomened to use any type of silicone sealer on a automatic transmission because it can clog up the passage ways if it gets into the wrong place.

OK, but where does the o ring go? Does it go on the part of the bullet that goes inside the trans, or on the outside like I have it now? Anyone have pics of theirs?

Re: O ring seal on TH350
It normally goes on the bullet itself then you slide it into the case.

Re: O ring seal on TH350
Pull the bullet out and you will see a definite groove machined into the bullet for the o ring to fit into.

Re: O ring seal on TH350
Yep, I pulled it back out and found the groove. Someone had filled it with some sealer and it was so smooth and gray in color that I missed it. I put the o ring in the groove and reinstalled. I will see if it leaks now. This time I put a pan under the tail so I won't lose another $4 in fluid over night if it leaks again. Thanks for the help.
