Please watch the language in your title, especially.I know you`re frustrated.I could only edit your 1st post so I deleted the two responses.
Can you put the Q-jet back on and look into the Edelbrock problem?Things don`t always go right the first time.

I would say get rid of the edelbrock and put a q-jet or holley on it .

Re: help trucks piffin me off and more carb. problems..
i feel your pain, not so much of having to fix one thing after another, but with the edelbrock carbs, mine floods on me everytime i take a hard turn, even at low speeds. and i've been fidiling with it for over a year and it always ran rich. check your fuel pressure cause the edelbrock carbs have a max rating of 5.5psi or something. this also proves what my dad taught me a long time ago. "Chrome dont get ya home"

Re: help trucks piffin me off and more carb. problems..
I`ve been working on my own stuff for over 35 years.I still don`t call myself a mechanic.I can accept that the problem is sometimes my screw up and not the vehicle. It`s the same no matter what the vehicle or age of it.With mechanics it`s either right or it`s not.The vehicle can`t get better because it knows your intentions are good. It`s just a machine that miraculously operates when everything is right.Sometimes 1/2 axed will get you by.But,carbs are about the most complicated,if not "the" most complicated, component on a vehicle. All that said...one reason these trucks are so popular is because they are some of the least frustrating vehicles to work on.I`d be a mechanic for a living if I only worked on older stuff.I hate working on anything much newer. The newer, the worse IMO.
Going for shiney over function won`t help you any, either.
