Wiring
I just put my engine in yesterday and I forgot where all the wires went where. I mainly need to know what color wires go to the starter. If you know which ones go where I would appreciate it.
Thanks Brian |

theres a purple 12gauge wire that goes to the terminal closest to the engine and a yellow that goes to the ouside terminal and the positive lead from the battery goes in the center

If you are running an HEI, you can snip that yellow wire out of there for good.

I bought a new harness that was modified for hei, but the yellow wire is still there. Is it ok for it to be attached?

I just bought one of theirs and installed it this last week. The big yellow wire also has a (not as big) pink wire that runs with it to the HEI cap (a white clip). Everything went as planned. If it's from another manufacturer, then I can't help. Sorry. Jeff

Truckstr,
Yes it's a M&H harness. Did you attach the yellow wire? I also bought a front harness. Sure wish the connecters were labeled. My trucks been apart for 10 yrs - I guess I'll figure it out as I go. Thanks

Anyway, like I said the yellow wire and the pink wire go into the same end/connector. It connects directly into the distributor cap. That is the only connection from the wiring harness to the distributor. I'll try to remember to get a picture and post it tomorrow. Jeff

I understand getting ripped off sucks, I'd be pi$$ed too, but to drag up a bunch of old posts and "TTTing" them with these responses forces a lot of new posts off the first page quickly. Kind of unfair to the "legitimate" posters IMO.
Rest assured I for one will not have any dealings with Brian Wolf, nor will I repeat this complaint on the other dozen or so similar posts.

That's what it sounds like. Maybe slammed67 could give us a little background on this. Especially if it involves truck parts and this board in some way. It's always good to find out about the good AND the bad deals. Kenneth
