Suspension drop questions for my '78 C10

Hello ......

I recently purchased a very original 1978 stepside C10. It is all STOCK right down to the plaid tan bench seat & smaller than usable sport mirrors.

My ideas or "plan" is to lower it with a quality drop spindle & front spring. The rear with a flip kit & relocated shox.

Although I like the factory steel wheels, caps & rings the 235 sized tires are a bit inadiquite. I'm thinking 255/60/15's on the front & either 275 or 295 rears.

Eventually I'd like a set of TTII's or Coys but I'll spend cash on the "kits" first.

Your thoughts on equipment & possible vendors??

Thanks.

Ratty 46

I'll post a pic or 2 as soon as my son re-sizes the pictures I have.

Performance Online and Classic Performance Parts have everything so you could eyeball the goods. There are also vendors on this site, as well.

Early Classic would be my vendor of choice for spindles and springs.

summit racing will have every thing you need and summit brand coils and spindles are re branded ground force parts
and for tire combo I would go with 215/70 27" tall and 275/60 28" tall

Re: Suspension drop questions for my '78 C10

I like the 255/60 front and 275/60 rear combo when running 15s on these trucks.

BFG Radial T/As and Torque Thrust IIs for my ride.

I have been looking at the POL flip out back for my 72.

I'm not a fan of bolt-in C notches but lots of folks run them.

Not sure about them being sponsors but both POL and CPP have banner ads on this site.

McGaughys, Bell tech, DJM, Western Chassis, or CPP on the spindles. Western Chassis on the rear flip kit & c-sections/shock relocators.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
