ANy reason I shouldnt weld the roof seams on my panel truck?

I am getting into the cutting out rusted areas and welding in patch panels and replacement pieces on my 68 panel truck. Is there any reason I should NOT weld the roofing seams together?

Are you removing the drip rails? If so, check the FAQ Section for those who have done this in the past. Some have found it to be difficult while others have not. Either way, from what I understand, it is a slow process to avoid warping of the metal and getting a nice finished look. Hopefully, others will chime in a add their .02 cents. Good Luck.

Corners would be fine but remember, you must move around allot. do not stay in one area for a long time or you will warp the metal. Are you bead filling or patch filling the area(s)? Either way, give your self allot of time. Don't rush the job. Good Luck.
