Re: 4l80 transplant

I put a 1991 454 with a 4l80e into my 69 crewcab truck. I used the transmission crossmember from the 91 Suburban and used a autometer electronic speedometer. I had to move the shifter linkage a little bit back but I also moved the motor a little bit forward. I had soem problems with the transmission playing nice with the engine and computer but it is all worked out nice now I hope. I am running 3.73 gears with 35" tires with the 4l80 and running about 1900 RPM's at 70MPH and it seems to have plenty of power. I also used the 241 transfer case for the 4 wheel drive. I still have soem bugs to work out yet. Hope this helps.
