It's from Saltville. That name just makes me cringe with thoughts of body rot and cancer. Looks solid though and a good deal.

Nice truck, but the fenders say it's a 71-72?

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
I know nothing about the truck but just to be clear saltville VA. is one of the better part's of VA. to get a vehicle , it is clean up there and they don't have coal truck's so if the truck is original to that area I bet it is solid ,

I agree on looking like a nice truck. The fenders were the same from 69-72.

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
C-10 was on the fenders on 69-70, and I believe the custom10 was 71-72. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
We just had a thread about this. IIRC Base level '69-'70 got C-10, and Custom was a trim package below CST. '71-'72 base level got Custom badges.

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
55, I guess location and being a short bed c-10. For East coast truck, it's pretty decent. Is it worth that? I personally think it should be a bit less. But just to find a fairly rust free truck, it's hard to do.

What makes you say that?
EDIT: you guys addressed it already. My '69 says "Custom/10".

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
if he would post some pic's of under the cab / and it is as solid and original as I think it should be then THAT IS NOT A DEAL ! IT's A STEAL !
above poster , long bed's are part of it , c20's are part of it , they are great truck's and not to be ignored but a shortbed / fleetside / c10 is in a different class and is valued different ,

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
I have seen that truck on Ebay once before. I think the price is good for a DD/shop truck, but I would be a tad bit concerned with the rust issues on the cab. The pics just have me worried.
I would actually pay a little more for a more solid truck, but that's me. If it were close by I would look at it first hand and then go from there. Pictures only show what it can capture....

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
well then I guess it's a good thing I needed a long bed and 4WD to carry my 19 foot 10 inch hangglider....I'd hate to be the one stuck paying an extra 1300.00.
And I guess we out west are a little spoiled with expecting, and finding, little to no rust out here. |

Re: Somebody better grab it ! 69 short fleet $3800.00
Oh I don't know it's not to bad I guess....
Actually there's another '69 (or is it a '70) on Ebay right now for $6k that looks to be a little more rust free than this truck. $6k is a little much for the condition, but it doesn't appear to have the rust issues this one might have. I wouldn't throw either one out of my garage.

I wasnt trying to offend you just saying that short beds generally are more rare so they cost more

Hey 55, your lwb 4x4 wouldn't last 10 seconds around here for 2500 dollars. We like those on the east cost as well.
