My New pick em up truck! 1970 C-10

Well got me a little toy. Its a 1970 Chevrolet C-10 Long bed 1/2 ton 2wd. No bondo seems to be original paint. Cab corners are great floors great. Rockers rusted but most of these are rusted I looked at many lately. This was kinda what I was looking for in a truck. 1. Had to be super cheap. 2. 67-72 Chevy 1/2 ton 2wd. I also was wanting original paint no bondo. I would rather see the rust. The patina of this truck is what I was looking for. Kinda weird to some but I am geeked about this truck. I feel im a simple man I am as happy as the guy that just got his new 26+ wheels. This thing is awesome to me. Its a 350 small block. With 3 speed manual trans. No air no power steering. Plain and simple. It runs but tires are old and carb is in need of being replaced or rebuilt. Well here it is.

to the board from North Georgia! It looks like you found a really sound truck to play with. You've definitely found the place on the web for these trucks. You can learn more than you wanted to know about these trucks here. What are your plans for it?

Very nice and all original. It's nice to not have to inherent someone else's idea of a cool modification. I like your plans for it.

I agree. Sometimes we forget most trucks orginally had this style small cap. Put a wet sos pad to those caps and they will shine. They are first generation chrome caps not the stainless steel used in later years.

Hey Joe I got the carb from that truck Chris bought from you what six years ago? Decided to slap it on after sitting well over six years it runs better than the old one on there. I will get better pics up. Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I installed a fuel filter in between the tank and pump and all the old laquer thinner ummm I mean gas looks nasty. You know kinda like gas from a 40 year old gas tank should look. One thing to me that I thought was cool was the chrome door edge guards I thought they looked factory then noticed it was on the SPID label in the glove box foir the chrome dooor edge guards. Well I will update pics in a day or two.

Re: My New pick em up truck! 1970 C-10

A lot of the early-mid 90's trucks around here seem to need rockers too. I used to think these trucks were bad for rust, but seeing late model stuff in just as bad condition in that area makes me wonder.

Couple of interior shots. Also started to buff out what paint is there. Looking good to me so far I am happy!

I have buffed the whole drivers bed side. Also middle of drivers door. Have not done fender or upper and lower of door yet.

Re: My New pick em up truck! 1970 C-10

Not sure but could be this or add a 100,000 to this.

Any way to soften the old vinyl back up?

The reason I got this truck. My other projects are to far out. Thats why I chose this truck was to keep it simple and just slam it. My son loves cars and going to cruises and we never have a car ready to go. Well now we do.

I guess I like this side the most.

Hey whats this little orange box that say FRAM on it on the fender well?

Why its a dip stripr. Thats how its worded.

I think its kinda cool.

The guy I got truck froms buddy who owned the truck his daugther did this.

More from the bad side.

They used some good crayons from factory to mark front cross member.
