I am having a really hard time with my sending unit

Is there a trick to getting the lock ring in place. I can get it in to save my life. Thanks in advance

Sometimes the seal makes the ring stick out so that the three tabs on the locking ring stick out to far to get them started. What I have done is bend the tabs at the starting edges slightly so that you can get all three tabs started at once. I spray the ring with penetrant so that you can tap it into place easier.

I use silicon spray to lube the rubber seal. It Does take some patience to get it going.

Also if you tap on one ring, then the next ring, then the next, and continue going around. This way the ring doesn't get shoved to one side and start to bind up.
