c-notch recommendations...bolt in or weld in?

which do you guys recommend? i'm wanting to go lower (yeah i know),..i want to lower the rear about an inch, and that will put my frame a bit too close to the rear housing..so....i want to c-notch the frame, and use one of those adjustable drop shackles to get 1" more of drop

my truck has a 1" rake that is driving my nuts...rear is up little more than an inch than the front

so i know i need a c-notch, just not sure if i should get one that welds in, or bolts in?

what have some of you guys done? which brands do you rec. or not recommend?

thinking seriously about the western chassis one from sport truck direct....dunno

thanks guys

-by the way, my current set up is:
wc 2.5" drop spindles-front
wc 2.5" coils -front

wc flip kit -rear

245/40-20's -front
295/40-20's rear

Does a c-notch such as this cause any problems for how the bed sits on the frame?

No, a "C" notch is just as pictured above. If you go larger with a "step" notch you will have to cut your bed.

Bigzz there is nothing wrong with a bolt in for normal use. If you plan to pull a trailer or haul loads, the addition of a weld in notch with a boxing plate is added peace of mind.

As AirMale demonstrated, you can always weld in a bolt in...

I went the opposite direction on mine. I started with a weld in, then converted to a bolt in. Of course there was a bit of motivation to my madness...
