Re: She runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A sticking starter? Could it be that the starter needs a shim or two to stop the sticking? A bad solenoid would not cause sticking.

Re: She runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It keeps cranking when you shut off the key, i already replaced the key switch and its still doing it. not all the time but enough. Does that make sense?? I figure it has to be the selenoid??

Re: She runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Shim the starter before you replace parts.

Re: She runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would shims help it from staying engaged??/

Re: She runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The faster motion/turning of the flexplate/flywheel actually forces the pinion gear in the starter to disengage from the flywheel/flexplate teeth. Has nothing to do with the ignition switch or the solenoid. If the starter pinion gear is too close to the flywheel/flexplate ring gear teeth, the pinion gear will bind and not disengage.
