Dropmember and Thorley LS1 swap Headers Delimma - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am running Porterbuilt's dropmemberc4 and had test fit it with f-body headers during mockup and before paint. Well - in the year that it was in the paint shop, Thorley came out with these great headers for a LS1 swap. I saw from the pics that there was tons of clearance so I ordered one of the first sets. Fast forward - firewall is painted, motor is in and the least of my worries were headers. Mistake number...well I have lost count. They don't come close to working!

Anyone running this combo - dropmemeber with Thorley Headers?

why does your motor sit back so far?

i couldnt have my engine as far back as i wanted either, s&p plates and swap headers.

why are people mounting their engines so far foreward, is their some benifit i dont know about?

i had to modify my shifter linkage to run between header and engine, straight to the trans.

i guess custom trucks dont come in a box.

That's where the dropmember puts it. I think I can gain an inch by moving the mount brackets but it still want be enough.

Atp, what type of headers are in the second set of photos? I am also running a DM with an LS swap. Headers are on the parts list, but could never get a straight answer about the Thorley's. Thanks
