Finally complete 69 C-10

I've worked on this project off and on for nearly 15 years. It took a 12 year break prior to this spring and summer. Hope you enjoy. I've really enjoyed seeing other project pictures on this forum.

A few more pictures. The dash I made and yes it took a lot of work. It still needs to be polished more but I gave in and decided it was shiny enough.

Very nice glad to see someone else stick to the six. Any performance parts in it besides the HEI, which i know was probably for reliability more than anything else

Not yet. I may add some things to it in the future though. Do you have a six? Thanks for the complements. Nice to be on the receiving end for a change.

Yea got the motor out of mine now hoping to round up some funds and get to work on it. Thinking of doing a cam, split header, dual exhaust, 4bbl and HEI while its out getting all freshened up.

Sweet. Let me know what that does for the horsepower. I haven't been able to get any real straight answers on that yet.

Very nice. So are you in B.C. or N.Y. ? I'm going to guess B.C. based on the background, but I've never been to Norwich,NY.

My son's truck has a 250-6... Are the 292's plentiful and easy to find ? We were going to go 350, but who knows...

Re: Finally complete 69 C-10

Very beautiful truck!! Nice and clean, love the 6. If I may make a suggestion. That particular air cleaner is a huge safety hazard and can catch on fire with any backfire through the carb. I would hate to see your awesome truck catch fire do to that air filter. I've burned up a few of the foam elements and nearly caught a truck on fire because of that thing. I am honestly surprised they can even still sell them. NOt to take away from the truck though, it is pretty.

Re: Finally complete 69 C-10

The truck is in BC Canada. My wife is from NY and we live there part of the time. We are living oversees now. I hate that air filter. That's the first thing I'll change. It fits for now but thanks for letting me know that they're a fire hazard. I had no idea.

Re: Finally complete 69 C-10

Nice Job, Congrats on finishing it. I too am glad you kept the 6. There is a lot of performance possibilities with it. Have you checked out http://inliners.org/ or http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/? Lots of ideas there. Tom Langdon at Stovebolt Engine Company has forgotten more about 292's than a lot of us will ever know. Then there is the Clifford 6=8 performance package. (http://www.cliffordperformance.net/), all it takes is money and time....

Re: Finally complete 69 C-10

The door panels are from rod doors. I just covered them. I still need to fasten them better. The double sided tape they suggest isn't working for me.

Re: Finally complete 69 C-10

Wow! Only 15 years, huh? Oh and the 12 year hiatus.......I'm into year number 10, as of Halloween. Oh, I guess the 8 years that I could drive it gotta count for something. But, there's no way it can be driven now....and it sucks!

Congrats on getting yours back between the ditches.
