air bags on a 75

So im thinking about bagging my 75 shortbox. I really dont know where to begin and what is needed. I know ill need to step knotch the frame and possibly get some new front spindles. But im unsure what else is needed. I have searched around and have seen some with after market A-arms and some without. What is best for the money? Do i need some kind of 4 link for the rear?

you'll need to z the frame or sandwich the factory cross member or get a sd raised cross member, or pd drop member

Suicide Doors has a front crossmember kit that's pretty cool that will alow you to lay flat out without doing a frame "Z", I kinda like it beter than the Porterbuilt crosmember. They also can set you up with what you'll need for the rear too.

So i checked out that kit, looks really nice. I wonder how the truck would handle with it?

Porterbuilt claims their c4 kit makes the truck handle really well. Id like to find some reviews on it.

Yeah the C4 kit from Porterbuilt looks like a good unit, but are you really gonna drive it hard enough to notice the difference? I know I wouldn't.

When you "Z" the frame you are cutting the frame in front of & behind the engine crossmember & raising it up to make the truck lower. It takes someone with good measuring & welding skills to make it line up straight & safe.

I also would like to know more about what A arms can be used? I have seen some people with stock and some with the aftermarket tubular?

I know that on the stock drivers side upper arm you have to notch it out by the front bushing for the steering shaft to clear the drivers upper control arm when you "Z" the frame or use a dropped crossmember, some tomes you'll also need to use three u-joints & support the steering too. I would assume the tubular arms are made to give the clearance needed for the steering shaft.

I searched around about Zing the frame. It looks like a lot more work, but would save some money. One thing i was questioning is, the engine and transmission will be brought up a few inches. Will the transmission or engine hit the cab?

Does anybody own one of these kits and have some comments on it? They sure would make it a lot easier to get to lay frame. Plus i like that it pushes the wheels in to fit inside the finders better.

What do you guys sugest for the rear?

Is there somebody that makes a kit for both the front and rear as a package?

for simplicity of design, and no brainer fab skills and an unlimited budget, I say go with PB dropmember. that thing is fantastic! the rear, I actually like the KP components 6 link set up. they look sweet, get mad lift, and on my buddies '04 it rides awesome. I want one for my 71.. but that being said. I am actually Z'ing my frame, sectioning the front crossmember, raising the lower and upper control arm location up and inward like one of the guys on here did. I can weld and have tools at my disposal. but if you dont. PB is the way to go. takes out all the guess work and saves from having cab mods to the trans tunnel

same issues there though. running small tires on 15's, and the frame it is layin is the front crossmember. lol
