My 87 has a 4" spring lift. Think I could run these or would it be to tight?

"My 87 has a 4" spring lift. Think I could run these or would it be to tight?" I have an 83 K10 with no lift and 31x10.5x15's.

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
The 9.50/33s? I think they might work with no lift. I knew a guy who had them on stock wheels on a '78 Blazer and I don't think it had any lift. I think they'd look/work great w/4" lift. 12.50/33s work with 4" lift

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
Are 37x13.5x17 on 17x9 wheel considered tall and skinny. I wish I could find a wider 17 inch.wheel

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
Not skinny in my book.... not with a nominal 13.5" section width. I'm running 33-12.50s which are not tall and definitely not skinny.

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
I'd say those are borderline on an oversized tall/skinny. Some depends on the tire design. I'll be running 12.50/37s mounted on 8.25" wheels. They are Super Swamper SSRs and I consider them jumbo tall/skinnies. Although they are 12.5" wide tires the tread is less and they are lugs. The first 37s I used to run were 14.50s which were proportionately close to the smaller 12.50/33,although a bit taller than wider of an increase. Figure a 12.50/37 is 4 full inches taller, yet the same width. That tall and skinny proportions to me...just BIG. Similar proportions to a 9.00-16,which is the basis of ta/skinny I've always used. 13.50/37 is starting to blur the line. In the end, when you look at them what do you see? I tall/skinny tire of a wider tire? My tires are wide, but more tall for the width. I wouldn't want a narrower 37.

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
I would love if someone would make 35s in 9.5 or 10.5.

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
No thanks. I don't like large rims on a 4x4.

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
Interco used to sell tires like 35x10.5xR16 or 34x9.5xR16.
I used to have a set of 35x10.5 on my 1989 Blazer and they worked great. I loved the look of the tall/skinny tires too. But that was 5 years ago now, perhaps they don't sell such sizes anymore..... |

Re: Tall Skinny Mud Tires Who's got them?
Use to run 900-16 military non directionals on a 88 V30. They were made by Armstrong. I think they are gone. Also had 900-16's by Denman tire. They are still around. Universal Vintage Tire still has 900-16's. The military non directionals were super off road in the mud, but were total crap in light snow on the road. It was like the truck was on ice skates. Still have the truck and now it has 255-85R16's by Kelly. They arn't as tall but the tread is much better in the snow but not as good in the mud. Can't have everything.
