Re: Nice CL Deal on a 72 C20 with 402
That is a good deal, someone should pick it up. If I had the room, I would.
I see A/C, tilt, factory auxilary tank, front bumper guards.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but could you please stop posting everything you find on CL, or at least try to condense them into one or two posts. I'm on the first page of the board and you have seven separate threads going.

Re: Nice CL Deal on a 72 C20 with 402
I apologize, I didn't realize I was not supposed to do this, nobody else has complained and I've seen this done by others before. Is there a formal rule against posting like this in this spot? Or, is it just something you personally don't like to see.

Re: Nice CL Deal on a 72 C20 with 402
No, there is no rule against it, if you don't like my suggestion you definitely have the right to tell me to stick it. We all enjoy CL links. I was just wondering if you're going to post that many if you could just condense like two or three of them to the same thread to keep the pages from flying by on here.
Not trying to be bossy, just a suggestion.

BTW, you're not posting stuff that people don't want to see, I'm clicking on your links myself. And now I've completely highjacked your thread!

Come on, do you get paid by CL to post this crap all over? You know, if you put as much time into working on your truck instead of posting every darn CL ad in the area... your truck might actually be done...

If I did, you'd have to read through 100 of my "crap" posts. Last edited by mclairmo; 08-28-2009 at 03:41 AM. |

I hate rules...
I like the look at this posts sometimes if they have pics; more better if they are 69 Cameros (misspelling joke there). Lighten up folks. There are plenty of not truck related posts that a google search would solve and only I'm whining about them. Gotta go. Booty call... |

"We look upon our veteran members to use this opportunity to teach the newer members the appropriate message board usage." I guess showing newer members it's okay to post dozens of CL links and clogging up the board with links that will be dead within a week is a good example to set. As for an "attack", I guess asking a legitmate question... which you did not answer BTW... must be wrong and un-American to do... Why don't you lead by example and show us the work you are doing on your truck. Show some cool mods or inspire others to work on their truck by seeing the progress on yours. Ad a benefit to the board, not detract from it. I'm not saying don't post CL ads but not to post ones that don't benefit others. You have ones like "am I missing something" and such, just taking pop shot at some rediculous CL sellers. Who cares, let people find those for themselves. If someone on CL wants to ask 10,000 for some pile of crap, let them. No need to point it out to everyone. When their stuff doesn't sell, maybe they'll get the message. Posting ones like "free parts" or "killer deal", those are useful to others and add a benefit. See the difference?

Wow, you guys need to quit being so harsh on him about posting those links.
I peronally like them. How about posting multiple links in one thread to cut down? That would help me. I love to view them, and could possibly use those links to buy some stuff........... It wouldnt be the first time.

Re: Nice CL Deal on a 72 C20 with 402
Naw, but I'm really dying to do so. Seems like a nice solid truck from the pic and the posting. I figure he'll probably take $1K like you said and the big block is worth that much alone. However, I have no trailer (just in case it's not road worthy) and though I have room in the garage for it, the wife would kill me for buying another truck and forcing her to park outside in the driveway. Also, I don't understand the seller stating that it is "by no means a truck to restore." Does that mean it's a rust bucket? I assume so but have no idea.

"By no means a truck to restore" I take it that it means the truck is good to go, no restoration needed.
It is registered, a daily driver, clean title. This alone makes it worth what he is asking. You will be in and out of the DMV in 20 mins, under $100 to put it in your name.

I actually like to see the CL postings since I rarely have time to search other cities for a new project.
I say post all you want......

Re: Nice CL Deal on a 72 C20 with 402
Being from the rust belt, I enjoy seeing what look like rust-free trucks on CL (especially from SOCAL). If it was an over-priced POS, I might feel like my time was wasted but if it's a decent find, I like seeing them.
The title normally contains reference to CL, if you don't care to view it just skip over it. Keep 'em coming!! |

I have only one comment. Please don't post CL's of anything other than our trucks. Other than that I like MCLAIRMO's CL posts. Peace.
