Re: Some junkyard pics

The blue one looked pretty good so they put it up for sale instead of sending it to the piranas. I think they wanted $1800 or something. Not junk AT ALL.

I'd love to have that step bumper. Or the bed. Or the doors. Or the exhaust manifolds...

And a fairly straight tailgate too. That would have come home with me.

I just can't get use to your So Cal "junkyards" I have never been to on with pavement in my life. Normally you have to fight you way through the briars, then the snakes, then your parts.

Nice looking stuff in that yard to.

Re: Some junkyard pics

The Pull-A-Part in Winston-Salem is not on pavement but there ain't a weed briar or critter in sight. The gravel is well graded and the vehicles are all up on stands made from wheels welded together. They had a nice Pontiac wagon the last time I was there just begging to be turned into a GTO clone,It was missing the door on the drivers side.Everything else but the drivetrain was still there.

I get a tetanus shot before going to the yards around here rather than waiting until after

Re: Some junkyard pics

the cement is an EPA deal because of contaminants getting in to the water. a lot of the yards are being forced to do this. I only know this because I very good friend owns a yard in San Antonio and they made him do this years ago.

Re: Some junkyard pics

Our yards are paved... with used oil, gravel and glass fragments. When it rains the water just beads up and runs off as if it were rain-x.

I've seen rust free first gen Camaros and nice old Mustangs in the yards here and just wish I could haul them all home. They get picked over real fast, though.
