Is the 62 Suburban rear bumper actually a front?

Re: 1962 Suburban rear bumper

They look to be real close. I think the rear actually wraps around a little bit further. But I think the bracket mounting holes are same.
The stlye for both is the same. the rear does not have the cut out for the licence plate.

no, but I guess that it could have been before the mounting holes were drilled.
just measure the distance between the frames front and rear and it will give you the diference

Re: 1962 Suburban rear bumper

Other than the hole spacing they are the same. Keep in mind though that the front bumper hole spacing is different between the '60-'62's and the '63-'66's. As for the rear bumper hole spacing I would have to verify if they are different in those same year groups.

Re: 1962 Suburban rear bumper

On building my 66 Burb I found the rear bumper bracket and holes are different from the front. Therefore I am looking for a rear bumper to finish my 66.

Re: 1962 Suburban rear bumper

I measured my '60 GMC 4x4 Suburban frame at the rear and it is wider than a '63-'66 Suburban/Panel frame at the rear. So it appears that the '60-'62 Suburban/Panel rear bumper hole spacing is different than for the '63-'66's.
